RELEGATION-threatened Bosbury looked to be heading for defeat at Bartestree & Lugwardine when the home side required just two runs to win with three wickets in hand.
They held their nerve in a thrilling finish, however, claiming the last three wickets for no runs to win by one run in a low scoring encounter and boost their position in Division 1 of the GB Liners Marches League.
Luke Ledbury (64no) fought a lone battle as Bosbury struggled to 144 all out, with Ben Simpkin (3-40), Andy Jones (2- 36) and Joe Wright (2-11) doing the majority of the damage.
But Ledbury (3-25) and Simon Probyn (4-59) had the last word.
Looking for a repeat performance when they entertained Crickhowell in a re-arranged game 24 hours later, all seemed to be going to plan for Bosbury when they dismissed Lawrence Watts from the first ball of the game.
The wheels came off at this point as the Welshmen went on to win the game by a mammoth 152 runs after rattling up 368-3.
as Greg Fury lived up to his name with a massive 149.
Ledbury did his best once again, scoring 75 at nearly a run-a-ball, but his colleagues were unable to back him up and were bowled out for 216.
At the other end of the table Garnons conceded top spot when they lost heavily by nine wickets at Luctonians.
The Mortimer Park outfit now top the table, with Goodrich, whose game with Glangrwyney was rained off, in second place.
The normally reliable Garnons batsmen had an off day, with only Jonny Andrews (29) and Sam Jones (31) making a significant contribution towards their final total of 128. Max Cheek (5- 21) was well supported by Angus Light and Tom Genders.
Dan Mulvenna continued his rich vein of form by scoring an unbeaten 70 as Luctonians coasted home in 26.1 overs.
Duncan Platford was out for 40, leaving his son James (19no) to complete the win.
Builth Wells are still in the championship race after pulling off a comfortable eight-wicket home win over Kington.
Ian Probert (109) hit a century for Shobdon but it was not enough to bring success against visiting Glangrwyney who ran out winners by two wickets.
