HEREFORDSHIRE CCC president Nick Nedadich and chairman of selectors Ernie Morgan were among 42 former Hereford City Sports Club cricketers gathering at the Racecourse to celebrate 150 years of cricket at the club.
Hereford United chairman David Keyte, who opened the batting and kept wicket for the club for several seasons, was among the party which included members, aged from nine to 79, who had travelled from Haverford West, Barmouth, Leicester, Cleethorpes, Weston-Super-Mare and even Canada.

HEREFORDSHIRE gained one of their most impressive Minor C o u n t i e s C h a m p i o n s h i p Western Division victories for several seasons when they beat reigning champions Dorset by eight wickets in under two days at Brockhampton.
It was a fine team performance by the county side who were spearheaded to victory by Brockhampton paceman Callum Stewart who took 11 wickets in the match.
Stewart was in fine form from the outset, removing the first three Dorset batsmen in his third over with only 10 runs on the board.
Dorset rallied to reach 213 but Stewart’s 6-56 were a career best and the best figures by a Herefordshire bowler at Brockhampton.
Brad Wadlan (61) and Charlie Walker (60 not out) built on an opening stand of 88 by Dave Exall (49) and Ben Stebbings (41) as Herefordshire built a first-innings lead of 69.
Stewart struck again at the start of the Dorset second innings and, after skipper Chris Boroughs (2-38) and Wadlan (3-25) swept through the middle order, he returned to clean up the tail and bag 5-67.
Herefordshire lost Stebbings early on but Steve Adshead, who smashed 73 in just 46 balls with 13 fours and two sixes, joined forces with Exall (41 not out) to ensure that Herefordshire eased to victory with more than a day to spare.
The win earns Herefordshire 23 championship points and augurs well for away games against Berkshire and Cornwall.
