A REJUVENATED Colwall side put their recent problems behind them as they pulled off a fine, and much-needed, 41-run win over Worcester League Division 1 leaders Worcester at Stowe Lane.
Tim Riley (56), Tom Coleman (38) and Simon Harwood (38) shone as the Colwall top-order flourished to post a total of 247-9.
A disciplined bowling performance from Kyron Burgess (4-31) Damien Berry (3-66) and youngster Chris Harwood (3- 49) saw the city side dismissed in the final over for 206.
A fine all-round display from Lundi Mbane backed up by a devastating spell of bowling from Dean Corbett saw Bromyard to a huge 224- run win over another title prospect, Astwood Bank at Flaggoners Green.
Mbane blasted a century off just 77 balls to help Bromyard post 268-8.
He then took 3-22 and with Corbett producing the sensational figures of 7-21, his maiden fivewicket haul, as Bank were shot out for just 44 in 17.3 overs.
After a recent blip, Monmouth forced their way back into the Division 2 promotion race with a scintillating nine-wicket home win over second-placed Oldswinford - who they now trail by just eight points.
They restricted the Black Country side to 228-7 and went on to take maximum points, romping home with six overs to spare despite losing Dan Head for a duck.
David Teague, who also took three wickets, and Cole McConchie both completed unbeaten centuries, sharing 33 boundaries along the way.
Burghill & Tillington must have been expecting to join the promotion race when they set Belbroughton a target of 286-5 at Hackman’s Gate.
The home side were up to the task, however, and scampered home with six wickets and 17 balls to spare.
David Scott (64) and Alex Hedges (114 including 16 fours and two sixes) shared an opening stand of 210.
It was a similar story for leaders Wormelow in Division 3.
Tim Boulter fell five short of his ton as the table-toppers set the home side, Harborne 3rd, the decent challenge of 221-7. But their bowlers found it hard going and the home side got home by six wickets with five overs to spare.
Canon Frome were grateful to Max Backhouse (60) as they beat visiting Chaddesley Corbett by four wickets, to move out of the bottom two, after bowling the visitors out for 172.
