THE Herefordshire Indoor Cricket League held their Cup competitions at Leominster’s Bridge Street Sports Centre before Christmas. Brockhampton beat Canon Frome in the final of the Division 1 Cup and Burghill amassed a huge total to see off Bromyard in the Division 2 competition.
Results Division 1 Cup Semi-final; Dales 96-3 (C Hill 26 no) Brockhampton 97-3 (H Langford 31 no).
Final: Canon Frome 108-4 (J Fortnam 40 no, A Backhouse 28 no) Brockhampton 109-2 (H Langford 32 no, R Broadbridge 27 no, Stu Jennings 26 no).
Division 2 Cup Semi-finals; Shirebulls 78-3 (C Breeze 29 no, L Griffiths 27 no) Bromyard 80-1 (D Corbett 26 no).
Kington 95 ao (G Rogers 34, J Gately 26) Burghill & Tillington 96-4 (M Biggs 27 no, O Morgan 25 no, J Hale 25) Final; Burghill & Tillington 199-4 (M Biggs 70 no, J Hale 41, D Smith 30 no) Bromyard 108-2 (M Reece 26 no, G Godsell 25 no).
Brockhampton, as winners of the Division 1 Cup, will go on and represent Herefordshire in the 2011 National competition.
Kington 1st won the previous year’s competition, but are no longer in the league, so Canon Frome as runner-up in that competition will represent the county this year. They will meet the Shropshire representatives away from home next month.
