BROCKHAMPTON Cricket Club were able to reflect on another season of progress when they held their annual meeting at the club room.
Chairman Roy Wargen thanked the 2009 committee and club officials for their hard work throughout the year.
The 1st X1 had won promotion to the First Division of the Birmingham League and Chris Boroughs had capped a fine season by topping the league batting and bowling averages.
Boroughs' 788 runs came at an average of 56.29 with a top score of 167 not out.
In his role as opening bowler, he picked up 61 wickets at a cost of 13.59 with a best of 7-21.
Herefordshire Minor Counties' skipper Boroughs also held the most catches in league matches.
Ben Stebbings had a fine first season with the club scoring two league centuries. Among the bowlers, Adam Hewlett had bagged 43 wickets, Richard Parker, 39 and Owen Price, 22.
Underpinning the success were coach Ed Price and captain Jonny Walker.
Under the captaincy of George Webb, the 2nd Xl finished third in Division 3 of the Birmingham League.
Further evidence of the strengthening club base is the forthcoming move of the club's 3rd Xl from the artificial wicket at Fownhope to a grass surface at Brockhampton. Steve Jennings has moulded the side into a useful outfit.
Once again more than 100 boys and girls aged eight to 17 had been coached at the club and sides entered in the Under 9, 11, 13 and 15 leagues.
Chairman Wargen thanked all the coaches for their efforts and Helen Broadbridge for co-ordinating the youth activities.
