THERE were mixed results for Wormelow and Bromyard in Division Two of the Worcestershire County Cricket League.

Wormelow are now up to sixth following a fine victory over Lye, but a batting collapse from Bromyard against high-flying Chaddesley Corbett has seen them lie just 18 points above the drop zone.

Captain Tom Cutler was the star of the show for Wormelow as his four wickets saw Lye skittled out for just 82, ensuring a 34 run win.

It looked like Wormelow's total of 136 would not be enough, with only Richard Stafford (32), George Lancaster (18) and Joe Snow (12) getting into double figures.

But two quick dismissals saw Lye reeling at 8-2 and when they were 49-6, Wormelow knew they had a great chance.

Cutler finished on 4-18, while Snow (2-4), and Alistair Main (2-19) also chipped in.

Bromyard, meanwhile, had an horrendous day at Chaddesley Corbett.

In a rain affected game, Chaddesley Corbett posted 192-7 off 39 overs, with David Taylor taking three wickets for Bromyard.

But Bromyard had no answer to their opponents' bowling attack and at one stage were 23-8.

They were eventually bowled out for 45, with Ikram Mussadaq taking 5-3 for the home side.

Bartestree & Lugwardine had a much better day, thrashing Avoncroft by 155 runs in Division Three.

Useful runs from Rauri Wargent (40), Marcus Ashcroft (34no), Ben Simpkin (33) and Dan Harris (30) saw Bartestree & Lugwardine post a competitive 260-8 off 45 overs.

And despite Craig Hughes falling just one run short of a half century, Avoncroft were bowled out for 105; Ryan Trattell taking 6-20.
