KINGTON are now just one point clear at the top of the GB Liners Marches League after losing at the weekend.

The Herefordshire side fell to a two-wicket defeat against Abergavenny-Crickhowell, with Joseph Bowker and Nick Francis both snapping up four wickets for the Welsh team.

Kington were all out for 155, with only Robert Protheroe (30) Dan Francis-Lofts (25) and Chris Lloyd (24) posting more than 20 runs.

To their credit, Kington bowled well, with Ben George taking 4-33.

But Crickhowell managed to reach their target with just under four overs remaining.

Breathing down Kington's neck are Goodrich, who restored their title hopes with a thumping eight-wicket win over Woolhope.

Despite Will Tanner's fine 114, Woolhope could only make 223-8 off their 45 overs, with Chris Tookey and Chris Abell both taking three wickets for Goodrich.

An excellent unbeaten 87 from Joe Provis and an unbeaten 50 from James O'Brien ensured Goodrich claimed the comfortable win.

Luctonians and Garnons will also believe they can win the title following respective wins.

Reigning champions Lucs are now just 15 points off the summit following a six-wicket win over Builth Wells, while Garnons hammered Glangrwyney by 10 wickets.

Chris Breeze was the pick of the Dales bowlers by taking 5-33, while Jack Rowsell (55) starred with the bat.

It is also tight at the top of Division Two, with five points separating the top two sides.

Ross-on-Wye are leading the way following an eight-wicket thumping of Eastnor Thirds, with Cleobury Mortimer not far behind.

Cleobury beat rivals Knighton-on-Teme by 162 runs last Saturday.
