BROCKHAMPTON could reclaim their place in the Premier Division of the Birmingham & District Premier League this weekend.

The villagers are 38 points clear of third-placed Smethwick with only three games in hand and are home to third-from-bottom Wellington (noon start).

Smethwick, meanwhile, host basement club Sutton Coldfield.

It has been a fantastic turnaround for Brockhampton after a slow start to the season following relegation last year.

But 11 straight wins soon propelled them up the league and they could even win the title.

Dorridge are currently eight points clear at the top of the division and travel to Himley this Saturday.

However, despite their fantastic recent form, Brockhampton performed poorly with the bat in both of their Bank Holiday weekend matches.

The villagers were skittled out for just 95 against Old Hill, which followed a 76 all out total against Moseley on Saturday.

However, remarkably Brockhampton managed to turn it around against Old Hill and won by 26 runs.

Skipper Nick Powell took 4-21, with Jamie McIlroy (3-24), Adam Hewlett (2-20) and Dominic Badger (1-3) also contributing.

Earlier, only Jack Bailey, James Mokler, Hewlett and Ian Bullock got into double figures in another poor showing.

Brockhampton went into the game on the back of an eight-wicket reverse against Moseley.

Unlike Old Hill, Moseley had no trouble getting to their target and got there in just 9.2 overs.

* Brockhampton's Under-19s are through to the final of the national Twenty-20 competition after beating Halesowen.

At one stage, Brockhampton were 47-7 chasing down Halesowen's total of 132-8.

But great batting from Harry Children, Jacob Broadbridge and George Cook saw the villagers home.

The final will be played at Kidderminster on September 11.
