COLWALL'S fast-fading Worcestershire League Division One title hopes suffered yet another crushing setback as they slumped to a decisive four-wicket defeat at Stourport.

The villagers remain in second place despite losing three of their last four games, but with Worcester Nomads winning, they now stand 40 points adrift of the leaders and all hopes of overhauling their rivals are virtually extinguished.

Colwall's inconsistent form with the bat let them down again, with too many of their top-order batsmen getting out just as they looked set to score significant runs.

Tom Coleman made 47 and Nick Panniers 24, but it was left to the tail-end to score most of the runs.

Colwall eventually made 209-8 off their 50 overs, but Stourport managed to reach their target with one over left; Wehan Joubert (3-24) being the pick of Colwall's bowlers.

It was better news for Burghill, Tillington & Weobley, who thumped Belbroughton by eight wickets.

Ben Owens snapped up five wickets as Belbroughton were bowled out for 160.

Owens then contributed with the bat, finishing unbeaten on 66.

The win propels Burghill up to fifth place in the division.

Bromyard's woes in Division Two continue and they are in real danger of being relegated.

Once again, thee Flaggoners Green side allowed their opponents to score a hatful of runs, with Bredon making 311-5.

Bromyard also didn't do enough with the bat, with George Leighton, batting at number seven, top scoring with 74.

Zahid Saeed and Greg Leighton also got into the 40s, but too many other players went cheaply.

Wormelow, meanwhile, have pulled themselves further away from danger thanks to a three-wicket win against Evesham.

Tom Cutler was the pick of their bowlers, taking 5-45.

Bartestree & Lugwardine beat Netherton in a high-scoring game to stay in second place in Division Three.

Netherton made 278-3 off their 50 overs thanks to a fine 119 from Matthew Lone and 86 not out by Mohammed Wasim Nawaz.

But Bartestree reached their target with eight balls remaining; Ben Chaplin once again top scoring with 67.

In the same division, Ross-on-Wye lost by 57 runs to Harborne.

The Birmingham side made a very competitive 321-6 in their innings thanks to an excellent 156 from Jamie Hall.

To their credit, Ross battled well, with Jack Evans (98) and David Long (51) adding useful runs, but they were never in sight of their target.
