LUCTONIANS face Garnons this Saturday in a mouth-watering clash at the top of GB Liners Marches League Division One.

Lucs are 25 points clear of their opponents, which leaves Garnons in need of victory if they wants to claim the division.

Both have won seven times out of their 10 games this season, but it's the batting and bowling points that have been key to Lucs' points haul of 204.

Last Saturday, they were one run short of knocking off 300 in a 137-run victory over Canon Frome & Marden.

Hamish Light top scored with 152, while Duncan Platford also made a fine contribution of 73 as Luctonians finished on 299-4.

Andy Lloyd and Nicko Evans both scored half centuries for Canon Frome & Marden in reply, but four other players went for a duck and the home side were bowled out for 162.

Garnons, meanwhile, narrowly beat Kington by two wickets in a low scoring affair.

Captain Rob Stokes top scored for Kington with 37, but the away side were bowled out for just 98.

However, Garnons made hard work of chasing down the total, with Michael Green snapping up five wickets.

They were therefore thankful for Thomas James' 51 to steer their home.

Elsewhere, Woolhope claimed a comfortable eight-wicket win over Glangrwyney, while Goodrich's match against Crickhowell was abandoned.

Goodrich had made 361-7 off 43 overs before the match was halted.

In Division Two, Russell Palmer's four wickets helped Dales beat Colwall 3rds by nine wickets and Craig Lawrence gained a five-for as Luctonians 2nds overcame Almeley by eight wickets.

Abergavenny 3rds gained two wins over the weekend in Division Three.

Last Saturday, they beat Goodrich 2nds by seven wickets, before overcoming Moccas by three wickets the following day.

Eastnor 4ths also bounced back from defeat at the hands of Ledbury 2nds by comfortably beating Strollers by six wickets.

Strollers went into the game on the back of a 108-run thrashing of Moccas, while Garnons 2nds beat Bosbury by seven wickets.

That match saw a remarkable performance from Ben Cotterell as his seven wickets at the cost of just three runs helped skittle out Bosbury for just 65.

Wormelow 3rds' Josh Worsley also had a day to remember in a Division Four match against Stollers 2nds.

With the bat, he scored 168 runs before snapping up five wickets for no runs to help his side thrash Strollers 2nds by 229 runs.

In the Twenty20 Knock-out Cup, Goodrich beat Burghill, Tillington & Weobley 3rds by 70 runs.
