BROCKHAMPTON are now up to fifth place in Division One of the Birmingham & District Premier League following a five-wicket triumph over Old Hill.

The villagers started slowly at the beginning of the campaign following relegation last season, but have picked up in recent weeks.

It was the bowlers who did the damage last Saturday, with Brockhampton skittling out Old Hill for just 65.

Nick Powell and Josh Tongue were the pick of the bowlers, finishing with excellent figures of 3-5 and 3-11 respectively.

Jamie McIlroy also came away with two wickets, with Callum Stewart grabbing another one.

Henry Langford and Ian Bullock partnered well when opening the batting for Brockhampton, with Langford being the more attacking of the pair.

When he departed, Brockhampton had already made 52 runs.

But to their credit, Old Hill managed to get four more wickets for just five runs.

However, the away side were always going to reach their target and did so in 23.3 overs.

It was a completely different story for Eastnor though, with the county side falling to a heavy eight-wicket defeat to Pershore in Division Three.

From 64-3, Eastnor completely capitulated, with their last seven wickets going for just 21 runs.

Only Anees Rariq (26), Tareq Jamil (16) and Atiq Ur Rehman (13) reached double figures for Eastnor.

Raheel Lone snapped up two wickets when Pershore were put into bat, but the Worcestershire side eased to victory.
