COLWALL Cricket Club's Sam Crichard helped England reach the final of the Deaf ICC Championship.

Crichard, from Ledbury, made 54 before being run out against Pakistan in Monday's final at Sharjah.

England chose to bat after winning the toss, but openers Alun Evans and Umesh Valijee found themselves under pressure early on with the former bowled out for just two runs.

James Schofield then adding 14 runs before Crichard came to the crease.

He steadied the innings with the experienced Valijee and thee pair's 84-run stand gave England hope of a high total.

But both departed and, despite Allen and Michael Wethersby making a sixth-wicket stand of 77, England finished on 225-6.

Pakistan were able to get to the required total with eight balls to spare.
