OWEN Thomas and Alan Davies blasted Pencombe to a 53-run victory over Ludlow in the South Shropshire League play-off final to book a place in the Twenty20 Champions Day.
In a match restricted to 15 overs apiece, and played in gloomy conditions, Pencombe posted an imposing 182-2, Thomas smashing an unbeaten 73 off 33 balls (four sixes and seven fours) and Davies 54 not out off 29.
They then pegged Ludlow back to 129-6, with George Leighton taking 3-31.
Pencombe now go forward to the Twenty20 Champions Day at Broseley on September 6, where they meet the winners of the Shrewsbury and District Evening League, the Broseley Bash and the Madeley Bash.
