BROCKHAMPTON Ladies are still undefeated this season after breaking their latest opponent's long winning streak.

Cam, who are from Gloucestershire, had apparently been undefeated for 20 years, but a sheer will to win saw Brockhampton home.

After losing the toss, Brockhampton were put out to field, but from the off put the Cam batsmen under pressure and reducing their run rate.

Ella Johnson clean bowled Cam captain Charlie Pretty to leave Cam on 7-1 before another delivery from Johnson was caught superbly by Izzy Binnerlsey.

A change of bowling then saw Lizzie Jefferyes take two wickets in her second over, leaving Cam at 51.4

Cam's batsmen could not get any sort of rhythm, with the energy and pressure of the Brockhampton bowlers proving too much.

Chasing 84 to win, Brockhampton captain Kate Bishop and vice-captain Hannah Larkin opened the batting and started steady before Bishop was bowled for eight.

Larkin was then caught out shortly afterwards, leaving Brockhampton on 49-2.

But a solid partnership from Jefferyes and Johnson saw the runs ticking over before Jefferyes was caught.

Binnersley and Johnson needed 25 runs to win and did so with a number of quick singles and four's hit by Johnson.

"We fielded and bowled superbly and were so determined to win," said Bishop.

"We had a winning attitude from the go and played with great team spirit, sportsmanship and energy which just added to the day."
