BROCKHAMPTON will be aiming to bounce back against fellow strugglers Dorridge this weekend after slipping into the relegation zone of the Birmingham & District Premier League Premier Division table.

The villagers lost to Walmley last Saturday meaning that they are now second from bottom, with Dorridge just one place above them.

Their defeat was in no small part to the bowling exploits of Tom Burton, who snapped up six wickets.

His first two two victims were Henry Langford and Chris Boroughs, with Langford only scoring two runs and Boroughs going for a duck.

And when Danny Irvine and Adam Hewlett, it was always going to be a tough task for Brockhampton to get the required 195 runs they needed to win.

Irvine went for 25 before Hewlett was run out after making 37.

From thereon in, only Nicholas Powell (26) made any inroads and Brockhampton were eventually bowled out for 151.

Earlier, Boroughs and Jamie McIlroy had snapped up three wickets each, with Jack Taylor also helping himself to two.

It was an even worse day for Eastnor as they were bowled out for just 44 in their Division Two match against Tamworth.

The defeat means they are also now bottom of the division and face a tough trip to Halesowen this Saturday.

Five of Eastnor's 11 players did not even make a run, with the top scorers being Dave Waters and Suleyman Shah with nine.

Shah took 29 balls to reach top nine though, with Waters' knock coming off 21.

Remarkably, Eastnor has made scored 22 runs before Waters went off Dean Van Deventer's delivery, but then the wickets started to fall in alarming fashion.

Shah, Mahaaz Ahmed, Jack Myers and Clive Chadhani all went for just 12 runs to leave Eastnor on 41-6.

New Zealand born Van Deventer was Eastnor's chief tormentor as also removed Tareq Jamil and Shahid Ahmed to finish on 6-14.

Jack Twigger also had a good game as he took three wickets for just six runs.

It would have been a minor miracle if Eastnor needed up winning the game, but to their credit, they did take five wickets.

Shaid Ahmed took three of those wickets to finish on 3-26, with Shameem Ahmed taking the other two.
