FINE bowling by Herefordshire saw them thrash Devon by eight wickets in the Unicorns Minor Counties Championship Western Division.

Devon were bowled out for 104 and 255 to ensure Herefordshire only needed 23 runs in their second innings after posting 340-9.

Will Barratt and Jamie McIlroy both took six wickets in the match, with Jamie McIlroy and Mo Pardesi both snapping up three apiece.

Herefordshire also had Charlie Lowen to thank for with the bat as he top scored with 93, while Ed Pollock, who scored a club record 227 not out against Shropshire last month, posted 67.

Herefordshire's second team, meanwhile, face Gloucestershire Academy at Eastnor tomorrow.

The team will consist of captain Tom Coleman, wicket-keepers Ben Wheeler and Ian Bullock, Shameer Ahmed, Ben Cooke, Joe Crichard, Sam Crichard, Michael Gooch, Greg Leighton, Taylor Pugh, Lee Watkins and Toby Wildig.

Last Sunday, Ryan Tongue's 103 helped Herefordshire 2nd thrash the Barmy Army by 156 runs at Colwall.

Coleman also hit 76 as Herefordshire scored 292 from 32 overs, reduced from 40 after a spell of heavy rain.

Some fine bowling by Wildig and Ahmed meant that the Barmy Army never troubled the score and were bowled out for 119; Adam London top scoring with 46.

At the time of going to press, Herefordshire Under-17's were chasing down Buckinghamshire Under-17's imposing first innings total of 470-6 declared.
