HAVING gone nine months without a victory, Bromyard recorded back-to-back successes with a win at Bewdley.

The county side followed up last week's triumph at Burghill & Tillington by thrashing the Worcestershire outfit by by seven wickets.

Star of the show was Ryan Tongue who was left stranded on 94 not out as his side chased down the 230 needed for victory.

Tongue was well supported by Ash Bullock who hit a half century for the second successive week. Earlier, Will Yarnold took 2-46 to restrict Bewdley to 229-6.

The win lifts Bromyard to eighth in Worcestershire County League Division One, just two places off Colwall who thrashed Hagley.

Colwall blasted 320-7 with Ben Cooke hitting a brilliant 129, while Tom Coleman weighed in with 82.

Hagley didn't get close in reply, closing on 168-9 thanks to a superb spell of bowling from Chris Kendall who claimed 3-11.

At the bottom of the table, Burghill & Tillington made it a Herefordshire hat-trick by beating Oldswinsford and Stourbridge Social.

Burghill looked to be struggling as they were dismissed for just 153, with Toby Wildig's unbeaten 37 the only score of note.

But in reply, the Birmingham-based side were bowled out for just 86 and Stefan Hook (4-27) and Ben George (3-19) tore into the home side to give Burghill a rare win.

In Division Two, Wormelow slipped to defeat at Coombs Wood. Batting first, Wormelow made 196-8 with Lee Watkins top scoring with 49.

Coombs Wood crossed the finish line comfortably, losing only three wickets.

In Division Three, high-flying Bartestree & Lugwardine had a day to forget after being skittled out for just 87 with only three players reaching double figures.

Opponents Chaddesley Corbett won by five wickets inside 15 overs.

At the other end, Ross-on-Wye narrowly lost a thrilling high-scoring affair at Rushwick despite posting 302-9, with half-centuries from Ben Lander, Michael Jeffryes and Harry Porter.

But Rushwick squeezed home off the final ball of the game as a final wicket partnership of 46 handed them victory.

In Division Seven South, Bartestree & Lugwardine 3rd beat Pershore 3rd by six wickets, while Bromyard 3rd also won, beating Droitwich Spa 4th by 32 runs.
