EXTRAS proved to be Eastnor's downfall as they went down by one wicket to Wombourne in Division 2 of the Birmingham & District Premier Cricket League.

A total of 51 extra runs were awarded to Wombourne, with a massive 45 of them coming off wide deliveries.

When Eastnor had the away side at 106-4, it looked like they victory could be within their grasp.

But, despite Raheel Lone chipping in with some useful late wickets, Wombourne managed to squeeze over the line with just two balls left.

Put into bat after losing the toss, Eastnor were bowled out for 189.

Crucial to that was the loss of the middle-order batsmen that saw Eastnor go from 130-3 to 138-6.

But despite Lone's four wickets, Wombourne secured the win.

In the Premier Division, Joe Crichard was once again in fine batting form for Brockhampton, but it was still not enough as the Herefordshire side suffered a six-wicket defeat to Shrewsbury via the Duckworth/Lewis method.

Crichard was unbeaten on 50 as Brockhampton posted 149-3 off 27.3 overs.

Shrewsbury then required 180 off 23.1 overs, which they managed to achieve with only four wickets lost.
