GARNONS remain at the top of Division One of the GB Liners Marches League despite suffering their first reverse of the season when they went down by 41 runs to visiting Luctonians.

With James Platford (66) leading the way, Luctonians racked up 277 against an attack which lost spinner Stuart Griffiths with a serious knee injury.

Pete Griffiths took full advantage with a blistering unbeaten 50 not out, including five fours and four sixes.

Skipper James Debenham held the home innings together with an unbeaten 76 while Duane Evans (52) also contributed well as Garnons made 236-8 from their 45 overs.

Crickhowell are up to second place after an eight-wicket win over Dales.

Phil Bowker (4-18) led the way as Dales were dismissed for just 53 and Crickhowell reached the target in just over 15 overs.

Goodrich missed the chance to close up at the top when they were beaten by 97 runs at Builth Wells.

Sam Williams (66) was Builth's top-scorer in their 197-8 but the home hero was seamer Paul Greenway, who scorched through the Goodrich line-up with a spell of 8-47.

Kington's Wayne Morgan was another bowler in form, snaring 6-35 as his team beat Brockhampton 3rd by seven wickets.

Top-scorer of the day was Ledbury's James Brighton with an unbeaten 135 in their 120-run Division Two win over Shirebulls.
