HEREFORDIANS veteran Terry Mason became one of the rare county players to take nine wickets in an innings when he finished with 9-36 against Luctonians 3rd in a GB Liners Marches League Division Four clash.
But the 64-year-old admitted that it might be his swansong with knee problems causing him major difficulties.
Should it be his final match, however, his nine-wicket haul completed a pleasing circle.
“When I made my first appearance for Herefordians - it was Herefordians Nomads in an evening league match against the Fire Service - I took 7-35.
"So, if this is my last game, then I’ve improved by average by one in 48 years,” he joked.
“I’ve had a few eight-wicket hauls over the years but this is my first nine.”
