OLYMPIC bronze medallist David Price has donated equipment to Hereford Boxing Academy.

The club's chairman, Ian Stevens, ended up talking to Price when he bid for some floor matting that the Liverpudlian was selling on internet auction site ebay.

But, unbeknown to Stevens, Price ended up providing the club with more equipment, including heavy bags, speed balls, a floor to ceiling ball and battle ropes.

"Any donations to the club are greatly received, but they're even more special coming from an olympian," said Stevens.

"David chatted openly about his boxing career and brought along his bronze medal to show the lads.

"He signed a pair of gloves, a long heavy bag and customised boxing boots, which were worn ins several of his fights."

The club, based near Hereford Lads Club on Widemarsh Common, is open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
