COLIN Amos marked his first appearance of the season with a late goal in Hereford’s 5-2 home win over Penarth in the Davis Wood Men’s Hockey League Conference North.

Hamish Cameron opened Hereford’s account, taking down a high pass and then flicking a shot over the visiting goalkeeper.

New signing Matt Walker and a Chris Hill brace struck before Amos sealed the points.

Alex Miller bagged a hat-trick in Hereford 3rd’s 3-0 win at Stroud 3rd in The Marches Two.

Hereford’s young side defeated a much more experienced outfit with Dan Westoby starring in midfield.

New defender Adam Bate, George Lawson, Dan Volpe and Marcus Betts all worked hard in Hereford’s win.

Meanwhile, Kington Ladies climbed to third in the South Wales League Division One after a 4-2 home success over Whitchurch.

Emma Bryan hit a double for Kington, while Lucy Gilbert and player-of-the-match Fenella Mott also found the target.

Rita Tompkins, Jess Goodwin and Jody Owen- Jones all bagged hat-tricks in Presteigne’s crushing 10-2 home win over UWIC 2nd in Division Two.

Presteigne taught the students a harsh lesson, scoring six second-half goals to seal a comfortable success. Tompkins led the way with four goals.

Meanwhile, Jenny Layton bagged a hat-trick as Kington Ladies powered to a 6-0 win at Builth and Llandrindod Wells in the Marches Sunday League.

Chrissie Johnson, Emma Turner and Emma Reddock also scored for Kington, while Tori Morgan, Helen Yeomans and Amy Jenkins also starred.
