HEREFORD United will be looking to consolidate their top 10 position in the Blue Square Bet Premier with two winnable games in the next week.

On Saturday, the Bulls host old rivals Stockport County at Edgar Street before making the short trip to the West Midlands on Tuesday night to take on Nuneaton Town for the first time.

Stockport are the on-the-road draw specialists with four in their six trips to date with one win. They have, however, conceded just five goals away from Edgeley Park.Newly-promoted Nuneaton have won just once in front of their own fans so far but their six home games have produced a total of 24 goals, 12 for and 12 against.

Hereford will be hoping that Ryan Bowman will be fit to return against Stockport.

The Bulls’ four-goal top-scorer was ruled out due to a stomach upset against Mansfield Town last weekend.

“One or two others have that now and there are a couple of injury niggles, too,” said boss Martin Foyle.

l Former Bulls striker Gary Hooper continues to make his mark north of the border.

The striker, whose loan spell at Edgar Street in 2007-8 helped the Bulls to promotion from League Two, scored Celtic’s opening goal in their Champions League success at Spartak Moscow on Tuesday night and was described as ‘world class’ by his boss Neil Lennon.
