A CENTURY from Atiq Ur Rehman gave Eastnor a great chance of holding on to their Birmingham League Division Two status.
Atiq’s unbeaten 136 formed a huge proportion of Eastnor’s 189-8 while table-topping Barnards Green finished on 184-9, largely thanks to 96 from Herefordshire all-rounder Phil Harris.
Brockhampton skipper Owen Price, enjoying a rare extended bowl this season, picked up 5-58 as second-placed visitors Himley made 233-9 from their 55 overs.
Henry Langford, who had endured being on the losing side for Wiltshire in the MCCA Knockout Trophy final against Cumberland earlier in the week, compiled a fine 48 with Adam Hewlett (37) and Jonny Walker (30) also chipping in, but the home side were bowled out for 185 to slip to fifth in the table.
Å Ross -on-Wye will play in Division Three of the Worcestershire League next season after clinching promotion with a 69-run home win over Avoncroft.
Sebastian Warwick (90) underpinned the Ross score of 173-9 before Christiaan Ferreira (5-43) and James Tiffen (4-16) dismissed the visitors for 104 on Saturday.
It was not such a happy day for Colwall whose relegation from Division One was confirmed with a one-wicket defeat by Pershore.
But Bromyard could still finish in the top three after Dinusha Fernando (130) starred in a winning draw against Droitwich.
Burghill & Tillington retain promotion hopes in Division Two after a four-wicket win over Romsley & Hunnington.
And Wormelow look safe from relegation in the same section after a devastating spell from Lee Watkins (6-9) helped to shoot out Alvechurch & Hopwood for just 42, allowing the villagers to go on to an eight-wicket success.
