Andy Burton tips Roger Chilman for Ludlow Woodpecker Rally

EX-BTRDA champion and winner of last year’s Ludlow Woodpecker Rally, Andy Burton will be watching the race from the sidelines this time around.

But he is hoping that fellow county driver Roger Chilman will take the spoils this time.

Burton decided not to take his place in this year’s BTRDA Rally Series due to changes in the ruling concerning home-built cars.

“I can’t compete because the governing body have changed the rules and no longer allow home-built cars, which rules me out,” he explained.

Burton is unsure when he will return to the championship but will be keeping an eye on this weekend’s Woodpecker event.

“I will definitely be watching,”

he said. “I would obviously like Roger Chilman to win, he has to win the Woodpecker if he has any chance of winning the championship.”

Chilman will be full of confidence going into the event after a win in the Nicky Grist stages in July.
