BARTESTREE made a fine start to life in Division 2 of the West Midlands League with a comfortable win.

Keeper Rauri Wargent made a good save in the early stages as the home side made a nervous start before John Davies earned the distinction of scoring the club’s first goal at this level.

The winger scored with a powerful drive from 18 yards after good work from James Upcott and Tom McLean.

Wargent made another good save to maintain the lead at the interval.

The home side sealed the win midway through the second period when substitute Matt Wargen created the opening for Tony Richards to score at the far post.

l Ledbury Town resumed life in Division 2 of the West Midlands League with a 3-3 home draw against Gornal Athletic Reserves.
