THE inspirational force of London 2012 reached as far as Nottingham for one Hereford athlete.
On Saturday, as Team GB was winning six Olympic gold medals, 23-year-old Anna Robertson was competing for Gloucester AC in the Up & Running Midland League Division 1 at Nottingham and making her own piece of personal history.
In her first season competing at senior level, Robertson achieved three personal bests in her “A” competitions. In her main discipline, the hammer, she was second with a throw of 46.17m, in the shot fourth with a putt of 10.21m and fourth in the discus with a throw of 24.43m.
Robertson is coached by former Commonwealth Gold medallist and Olympian, Lorraine Shaw, for hammer, supported by Ben Harwood of thePoint4 and local coach, Vic Tarrant.
Robertson is ranked 16th in the UK for hammer at senior level and second in the South-West region.
