Brockhampton enjoy the better of a Birmingham League draw with Kidderminster

BROCKHAMPTON had much the better of a winning draw in a rain-affected Birmingham League Premier Division match at Kidderminster Victoria.

The Herefordshire are eighth in the table but just two points off fourth.

Kidderminster made a steady start after batting first with Herefordshire Minor Counties player Andy Kimberlin (36) and Neil Pinner (56) batting well.

However, the Brockhampton attack began to get into the game with seamer Dave Exall (4-28) and left-arm spinner Charlie Griffiths (3-62) well supported by Chris Boroughs (2-50) as the home side were restricted to 173-9 from their 55 overs.

Rain reduced the Brockhampton innings to 41 overs but, despite the early loss of Exall (five) and Boroughs (15), the visitors made good ground with Ben Stebbings (35) and Henry Langford (52) batting well.

Jonny Walker (33 not out) continued the momentum to leave Brockhampton on 153-4 when the overs ran out.
