Weale brothers dominate at Mid-Wales Bowling Association county finals

THE Weale family have again dominated to carry off plenty of silverware from the Mid-Wales Bowling Association county finals at Rock Park, Llandrindod Wells.

The four Weale brothers, Brian, Stuart, David and Robert, representing Presteigne, teamed up to beat the quartet of Paul Watkins, David Sims, Nigel Price and Ken Price in the final of the fours.

And the final of the pairs was an all- Weale affair with Robert and David enjoying a 23-12 success over Brian and Stuart.

There was a rare failure, but only by a single shot, in the final of the triples where David and Robert were joined by club-mate Dale Gorman but were beaten 20-19 but the Bulith Wells trio of Dilwyn Davies, Haydn Morgan amd Stan Lloyd.

But it was victory again in the singles for Hereford-based Robert as the reigning Commonwealth Games champion beat Ken Price (Llandrindod) 23-10.
