Hereford Couriers athlete Mike Link wins top prize in the mud at Eastnor

MIKE Link’s Dirty Weekend at Eastnor estate brought him the top prize in a gruelling 10km race.

The Hereford Couriers’ athlete won the overall adult weekend’s racing and was the only person to complete the Mud Runner Oblivion course twice.

Young runner Harry Milikin, from Hereford, had an outstanding event, securing the second fastest combined time for the weekend.

And 11-year-old Jasper Robinson, from Leominster , was also in top form, producing the third fastest time.

Hereford Couriers’ Matt James clocked the fastest time for a single race.

Ross -on-Wye’s Robyn Perkins won the women’s open race and Gorsley’s Ella Jones secured the best time for a single race in the junior girls.

The original Mud Runner race had been postponed due to high winds and falling trees and Link starred in the re-scheduled two-day event, achieving a time of one hour 58 minutes 54 seconds.

Oblivion is a 10km race which tests athletes over a tough and challenging course and has obstacles at every kilometre. The Mud Runner event will be returning to Eastnor in October.
