REIGNING-champions Kington are the team to beat in this summer’s Ladies’ Rounders League at Luctonians.
Kington are the only undefeated team but Orleton Team GB, Bishops Castle, Kingsland Ladies and YFC will be pushing them for the Division One title.
The league now boasts 10 teams, compared to six last summer. Luctonians Juniors, Kington Hockey Club, Charlottery, Country Casuals and Lucton School are the newcomers and make up Division Two.
A newly-formed junior section has been playing matches against local independent schools.
Luctonians are running a West Midlands Ladies Tournament at Kingsland this Sunday (July 15), from 10.15am.
England under-19, Wales under-16, Wales under-16 B, Swansea Rounders Club, Kingsland Ladies, Luctonians Juniors and Luctonians Amazons are among the teams.
England under-16 coach Judith Handley will be holding a development day on August 16, from 10am to 3pm, for girls aged 10 to 15 years old.
For more details about the development day, email: rounders@luctonians.co.uk or call Sue Rowsell on 07947 584017.
