Eastnor crash to six-wicket defeat against Attock in Birmingham and District League

Eastnor suffered a setback in the Birmingham and District League Division Two with a six-wicket defeat against visiting outfit Attock.

Wicketkeeper Arshad Hussain topscored with 36 for Eastnor who were dismissed for just 117 on a damp pitch.

In reply, Shahid Ahmed claimed 3-26 but he couldn’t prevent defeat as opposition opener Mohammed Qamar Khan hit an unbeaten half-century.

The news wasn’t any better from Eastnor 2nd who were comfortably beaten by eight wickets at Berkswell 2nd.

Batting first, Ishtiaq Ahmed topscored for the Herefordshire side with 33 before Eastnor were dismissed for 100.

Berkswell then knocked off the required runs inside 19 wickets for the loss of just two wickets.

A fine spell of bowling from Herefordshire all-rounder David Exall helped Brockhampton to a 47- run success in a low-scoring Premier Division clash.

Exall’s 3-11 helped demolish a Shrewsbury side who had been set a modest looking target of 133.

Callum Stewart and Charlie Griffiths also claimed three wickets as Brockhampton dismissed their Shropshire rivals for just 85 inside 30 overs.

Earlier in his side’s innings, only Chris Boroughs shone for the visitors on his way to 59.

The middle order collapsed with four batsmen falling for ducks as the county side slipped from 84-2 to 89-8.

Only late resistance from Callum Stewart (27 not out) and Owen Price (13) lifted Brockhampton to 132 all out.
