Spanish Paralympic Blind Football team to train in Hereford

HEREFORD has been chosen as the pre-Games training camp for the Spanish Paralympic Blind Football team.
A squad of 16 players and staff will be arriving mid-August to spend 12 days training at the Royal National College for the Blind’s thePoint4.
“We are delighted Spain have chosen thePoint4 for their pre- Games training,” said Tony Larkin, a director at RNC and head coach of the GB Blind Football squad.
“They enjoyed the world-class facilities at thePoint4 and everything the city has to offer when they were here in 2010.
“I know that RNC and the people of Hereford will do all they can to make them welcome this time.
“As head coach of team GB I know my squad is looking forward to the challenge of meeting Spain when both teams get to London.”
Hereford is home to the GB Paralympic Blind Football Squad who are now meeting regularly at thePoint4 as they count down to their first game in London on August 28.
They will be doing their final round of pre-game training in Bath along with other GB athletes.
Hereford’s Paralympic Flame Celebration will be taking place at thePoint4 on August 25.
