Bartlett has expressed a wish to return up north for "family reasons"

HEREFORD United goalkeeper Adam Bartlett has left Edgar Street.

Bartlett has expressed a wish to return up north for family reasons, which Hereford have agreed to.

Bartlett joined the Bulls in July 2009, making more than 100 appearances for the club.

But last season was an inconsistent one for the Geordie and he failed to establish himself as the number one keeper.

Dan Hanford, who is yet to make an appearance for the Bulls, is now the only goalkeeper on Hereford's books.

Following the news, Bartlett tweeted: "All the best to hereford united for the future.....best wishes to the staff, players and fans for next season."
