Scott Moran continues to lead British Hillclimb Championship

HEREFORDSHIRE ace Scott Moran remains at the top of the MSA British Hillclimb Championship despite failing to win either run-off in Sunday’s round at Shelsley Walsh.

Trevor Willis led the way in both legs to cut Moran’s lead at the top of the championship table to 13 points.

Moran was second in the morning run-off and slipped back to third in the afternoon when he swapped places with dad Roger.

Moran senior finished in third place in the morning but used all his experience in the second session to move up to second.

He is now third in the championship and the prospect continues that the Moran father-and-son combination can repeat their first and second place finishes from last year.

It was also a good day for two other Herefordshire drivers.

Mike Turpin retains his position at the head of the standings in the TTC Group Midland Hill Climb Championship after a fourth straight win at Shelsley Walsh.

Sue Young from Yarkhill won the award for top lady.

Avon Tyres MSA British Hill Climb Championship, positions after 10 rounds: 1 Scott Moran (Orleton) 93 points, 2 Trevor Willis (Aylesbury) 80, 3 Roger Moran (Orleton) 71.
