Luctonians sign off in style and Westfields finish in second place

LUCTONIANS may have missed out on the play-offs in National 2 North but they have certainly not forgotten how to score points.

The north Herefordshire side battered basement club Kendal 90-20 to round off what has been an excellent season.

It’s been a fine campaign, too, for Westfields, who out the disappointment of missing out on promotion to the Southern League with a 4-1 dismantling of strugglers Atherstone.

With Coventry Sphinx and Gresley both suffering final-day defeats, Fields finish in second place in the Midland Alliance, just two points behind the champions.

It was a mixed bag of results in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Pegasus beat bottom-club Darlaston 3-1 but there were defeats for Bromyard, 2-0 at Shifnal, and Wellington, 3-2 at Wednesfield.

Leominster have gone up to eighth in Division 1 after a 5-1 hammering of Wolverhampton United.

With rain falling through much of the day, the county’s cricket teams suffered a wash-out with Herefordshire’s MCCA KO Trophy clash at Cambridgeshire tomorrow already called off.
