Wellington beaten by Wolves after promising start

Wellington 0 Wolves Casuals 3.

DESPITE a promising start, Wellington were eventually overpowered by the West Midlands League Premier Division’s third-placed side.

In the early stages, Sau Thomas had a couple of good chances while Tom McClean also sent two shots just wide.

In defence, Aaron Morgan did well as a centre-back deputy for the holidaying Jack Lewis as the chances continued to come at the other end with McClean heading a Matt Williams cross inches over.

As the game moved into the second period, a stalemate was looking likely until Sean Bowden was caught flat-footed by the Wolves left-winger who provided a cross for their striker to score.

There was a repeat within five minutes and Wolves sealed the win in the 85th minute as Wellington pushed up.
