ELIOT Taylor, of Hereford Couriers, put in a superb run to win the Wye Valley Runners-organised Muddy Woody 6 race over a challenging, undulating woodland trail course in Haugh Woods.

Taylor finished in 45 minutes and successfully held off a strong challenge from last year’s winner John Pullen of Wye Valley Runners.

Matt James of Hereford Couriers was third.

Alex Champ stormed to victory in the ladies’ race in a time of 53.11 finishing in 25th position overall.

Paula Moseley, of Hereford Triathlon Club, secured second position and Kathryn King, of Wye Valley Runners, was third. The men’s team award went to Hereford Couriers’ Taylor, James and Tim Clarke. The ladies team award went to Wye Valley Runners’ Champ, King and Tracey Wise.

The Jim Gray trophy was awarded to Wye Valley Runner Champ.

Two hundred and ninety-nine runners completed the course and were rewarded with a Muddy Woody 6 tee-shirt.

Wye Valley Runners raised money for their charity of the year SCARD (Support and Care after Road Death and Injury) and thank the runners, spectators, marshals and residents for their support.
