THE Football League Show’s Mark Clemmit was at Edgar Street today and interviewed some of Hereford United Giantkillers’ side from 1972.
The Football League Show is being screened on BBC One tonight (Saturday) from 11.55pm to 1.10am. It will also be on the BBC Iplayer.
Clemmit was relieved today’s game passed a pitch inspection – he’s a Middlesbrough fan who lives in the north-east.
He said: “I had a fantastic day and it was an absolute privilege to be among the Hereford players from 1972.
"I think Hereford's win over Newcastle was one of the most iconic moments in modern English football history.”
“As a side order, I really like Jamie Pitman. I really hope he can keep the club in the Football League and the signs are, slowly but surely, he’s getting to grips with management and it’s looking good for the future at Hereford.”
