Luctonians remember Saracens' England lock Mauritz Botha

ENGLAND lock Mouritz Botha is remembered by Luctonians Rugby Club.

The South African-born player was yellow-carded in a Midlands One match against Bedford Athletic at Mortimer Park in September 2005.

“I think he was yellow-carded after lashing out,” said Luctonians spokesman Simon Green-Price.

Luctonians lost the match 28-26 and play was stopped for 40 minutes after winger Sam Bowen, now with Westfields FC, suffered a serious leg injury.

Botha, who is now at Saracens, made his Six Nations debut in England’s 13-6 victory over Scotland last Saturday.
