Following hot on the heels of the county’s short-mat bowling first team, Herefordshire ‘A’ have also qualified for the knock-out section of the Inter-County Competition.
In their final pool stage match against Gloucester at Churchdown, they gained a tight 22-18 point and 182-171 shots win.
They have completed their programme in second place in the pool and now face a preliminary round clash with Cheshire in Northampton on February 5.
“I have been delighted with the team’s performance over the pool stage,” said captain Brian Claessen. “I hope that the team will maintain the same standard in the knock-out stages of the competition in February.”
