WESTSIDE continue to struggle to find their form in Division 1 of the West Midland Netball League as they went down 49-47 to Worcester-based Saracens.
With a full squad available, the Hereford side were hopeful of a win.
Making the first turnover within seconds of the start gave Westside a much-needed boost to dominate the game and hold on to a three-goal lead throughout the first three quarters.
But Saracens continued to battle, making it difficult for Westside’s shooting pair of Helen Hancock and Kerry Amos to create shooting opportunities.
Saracens' shooters, meanwhile, were faultless putting in a 100% shooting record.
Team changes at third quarter saw Debbie Bowdley come on at GS for the home side and Hancock move to GA, but tired legs were evident and the lead began to slip away from Westside.
Despite excellent shooting from Bowdley, Westside were unable to hold on to their three-goal advantage and lost the game in the dying minutes.
Player of the match went to Kelly Stevens at goal defence.
