GRAHAM Turner is back in charge at Hereford United after relieving John Trewick of his managerial duties.
Turner had a meeting with Trewick this morning and told the former West Brom man the reason why he was taking over as team manager.
“I have been relieved of my duties as manager of Hereford United with immediate effect during an amicable meeting with Graham Turner,” Trewick told Hereford United’s official website.
“I was given the reasons behind the decision which I understand and accept. The most important thing to me is the continued Football League status of Hereford United. I have invested too much time at the club to see it jeopardised.”
Trewick added: “This season was always going to be a time of readjustment and stabilisation, after a poor start and inconsistent results the season turned out just as difficult and challenging as I thought it might be following relegation last season. However, with over a quarter of the season remaining, Hereford United Football Club are 11 points clear of the relegation zone, I don't believe given all the recent circumstances that too much more could have been achieved. I sincerely hope with Graham Turner taking over it instills the all round belief that the club can finish in a more comfortable position.”
Turner will take over the manager’s responsibilities in the short-term.
Hereford United have thanked Trewick for the considerable hard work he has put into the club both as manager and coach.
