A MILITARY guard of honour is to take place at Edgar Street tomorrow before Hereford United's game against Macclesfield Town.
Hon Col James Hereford of The Rifles and Sgt Major Stuart Cotterell will lead family members of local servicemen who have lost their lives or been severely wounded in conflict onto the pitch.
A bucket collection will also be held inside and outside Edgar Street by members of the Royal Mercian and Lancastrian Yeomanry - Hereford detachment.
All proceeds from the club's share of the game's 50/50 draw will also be going into the fund.
The initiative is part of Hereford United and the Football League's support for Help for Heroes.
The game will also be the first that Macclesfield will have played since the tragic news broke about the death of their manager Keith Alexander.
Alexander passed away on Tuesday night after the Silkmen had played Notts County.
