A SMALL Herefordshire school created a splash at a national swimming competition at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield.
Much Marcle Primary School secured two top-10 finishes at the English Schools’ Swimming Association 15th Annual Team Championships for Primary Schools.
They were seventh in the Mixed Stroke Relay and ninth in the Freestyle relay.
Much Marcle shone in the Small Schools’ section which is for schools throughout the country with fewer than 50 children in years 5 and 6.
Daniel Clark and William Park (both Year 6), and Millie Park and Joseph Cotton (both Year 5) were the Much Marcle swimmers.
The team had booked their spot in Sheffield after qualifying at Wolverhampton for the Mixed Stroke (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle, Front Crawl) relay event and the Small Schools’ Freestyle relay. The school thanks Haygrove Ltd of Ledbury for supporting the team.
