HEREFORDSHIRE’S Alice Pearson beat Olympic riders to finish sixth at one of Britain’s leading three-day events.
The 21-year-old teamed up with Beau Bear to clinch the ‘Best rider under-25’ honour at Bramham CIC***.
The combination lay 15th after dressage with a correct test resulting in a score of 54.4.
A superb clear with just 6.4 time faults on the cross-country track lifted the duo into an overnight placing of seventh.
Pearson and Beau Bear then achieved a clear show-jumping round on the final day to finish sixth overall.
Olympic horse Tankers Town was in the line-up and Pearson and beat riders which included William Fox Pitt.
This result has qualified Pearson and Beau Bear, owned by Tricia Wilkins, for The British Eventing Open Championships 2010.
They will now head to Barbury Castle, Hartpury and Blenheim Palace.
Pearson is on good form because her mother's (Sally Pearson) horse Whatever You Want finished second in an Intermediate class at Cleobury Mortimer.
This has qualified Pearson and the horse for the British Eventing Intermediate Championships at Gatcombe in August.
At Catton Park, Pearson came home with the rosettes when Trinivantes, a six-year-old, was third in his first novice.
This result has booked the pair’s place in the British Eventing six-year-old Young Horse Championships in October.
Pearson would like to thank Topspec for their continued support.
l HEREFORDSHIRE rider Tracey McLaughlin triumphed at her first Junior Regional Novice at the Llanymynech Horse Trials.

She would like to thank the continued support from Generic Holdings Ltd.
