With Luctonians requiring seven to win with their last pair together, Paul Shannon turned to 14-year-old debutant Jamie Blanchard and the youngster held his nerve to claim his third wicket of the game.

Bartestree had posted a total of 266-8, with the main feature a partnership of 171 for the fifth wicket between Ben Simpkin (66) and Russell Barnett who scored his maiden century. Mark Lowden (94) and Duncan Platford shared an opening stand of 129 for the losers.

The top-versus-bottom clash between Goodrich and visiting Herefordians ended in a win for title-chasing Goodrich.

They set the city side a total of 260-8, and then restricted them to 147-8, to win by 113 runs.

The top six home batsmen all reached 20 with Sam Griffiths top-scoring on (64). Lee Watkins and Rob Wilcock shared six wickets in the first innings, and then scored 20 apiece with the bat to help prevent the Herefordians from being bowled out.

Garnons recorded an easy home win over a Woolhope side who are starting to slide after a promising start to the campaign.

They bowled Woolhope out for 144 in 40 overs and then romped to a seven wicket win in just 24 overs.

Captain Jonny Andrews was the man-of-the-match, claiming 5-26 before tea, and then carried his bat for an unbeaten 70 when his side batted.

The local derby match between Crickhowell and Glangrwyney ended in a comfortable seven-wicket win for home side Crickhowell. The visitors were bowled out for 153 in the 37th over, and Crickhowell knocked the runs off in 32 overs for the loss of three wickets.

A rain-affected game at Garth Road ended with Kington beating Builth Wells by four wickets in a low-scoring game. Builth could only muster 89-8 in their 36 overs and Kington got home with 13 overs to spare.
