DAVE Lane and Mike Baston picked up the managers’ player-of-the-year awards at Toros FC’s end-of-season presentation party.

Lane was the winner for the club’s Saturday team and Baston scooped the Sunday team accolade.

Ty Burton (Saturday) and Danny King (Sunday) carried off the players’ player of the Year honours.

Danny King (Saturday) and Tom Russell (Sunday) were the most improved players, while Craig Forsyth (Saturday) and Scott Pegler (Sunday), the top scorers.

A special mention was given to Mat Weaver who ran the Sunday team in difficult circumstances at the beginning of this year. Weaver also picked up the trophy for having scored the Saturday team’s goal of the season.

Sammy King was the winner of the Sunday team’s goal of the season honour.

Nathan Heighway presented Gareth Cottrell with the Clubman of the Year shield.

Meanwhile, Toros will be running a reserve side, called Toros Colts, in Division 3 of the Hereford Times Herefordshire League.

The new team will be managed by Darrin Daw, while the first side is being run by Cottrell and Chris James.
