ONE of the world’s biggest mountain biking events has taken place in Herefordshire.
More than 3,300 bikers from across the world took part in Mountain Mayhem.
The 24-hour event at Deer Park, Eastnor Castle, is billed as the biggest mountain biking endurance challenge in the UK.
Bikers of all abilities took part in the 10-mile route.
They included five Colwall Rotarians - David Watson, Tony Brook, David Torbet, Shelley Lloyd and Russell Horton - who finished in the top 100. Their efforts raised £2,000 for three hospices, while 15,000 people attended the mountain biking showcase.
“We were delighted with our placing in the 80s,” said Tony. “We had a team member out on the track every minute of the 24 hours, including right through the night.”
