THREE clubs from the now disbanded Malvern League will be playing Sunday football in Herefordshire next season.
La Mano de dios, Frome Tigers and Seven Allstars have joined the Jewson Herefordshire Sunday League.
La Mano de dios and Seven Allstars have been placed in the Premier Division and Frome Tigers will be competing in Division 2 South.
League chairman Steve Willmot told the annual meeting: “Although we have lost a number of teams during and at the end of the season, I am delighted to welcome nine new teams into the league, including clubs who have previously played in the now disbanded Malvern League.”
Marden were one of the clubs who pulled out of the Herefordshire League before the end of last season.
“Sadly it was necessary to expel Marden from the Premier Division Cup when they played a suspended player in a semi-final,” said Willmot.
“It was even more disappointing when they then withdrew from the league with just a few matches left. Needless to say they were then fined and all their players are now suspended from playing any football until their portion of the fine is paid.” Willmot said that teams had been generally well run during the season.
